FAQ’s About Our Services
Q. How much does it cost? A. In most cases, there is no charge. We are subsidized in part by the State of California to provide FREE recycling services (televisions and computer monitors) to businesses and individuals. However, there are restrictions that apply: (1) a television that is over 50” and/or needs to be brought to the ground floor may require a charge of $25, (2) if you are recycling a television(s) and/or monitor(s) on behalf of another individual(s) or business(s), you may be charged $25. For example, you manage or own rental property and a vacating tenant moves and discards the television at the property and you decide to recycle this item through GreenMouse Recycling, you must provide us with the name and address of the television owner, as required by the State of California. If you cannot provide us with this information you will be charged accordingly.
Q. Do you pick up? A. Yes, we pick-up. However, if you have a small quantity, we suggest you come to our convenient and friendly drive-through Recycling Center – no need to exit your vehicle. We are open Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
Q. What do you do with it? A. We are a state approved collector, which means we must recycle all televisions and monitors we collect using a state approved recycling facility (ERI, Fresno, CA). Most items collected are destroyed and turned into scrap. Some working items are donated to non-profit organizations or individuals. All hard drives are destroyed. We work exclusively with, a California state approved recycling company, where they process all CRTs collected by GreenMouse Recycling. ERI (www.eri.com) is part of the Basel Action Network and has signed the most rigorous criteria for sustainable and socially just electronics recycling. No e-waste collected by GreenMouse Recycling is sent outside of the United States for processing.
